The Feets is honoured to sponsor Tom in his courageous and heartfelt journey to run the entire UK South West Coast Path, 630 miles of some of the most rugged, breathtaking coastline in the UK. But this isn't just about an extraordinary physical challenge. This run is about love, remembrance, and healing.
In 2020, Tom tragically lost his son, Sam, to suicide. Since then, Tom has set out on a path that goes beyond miles and elevation gains—it’s a deeply personal journey to honour his son, to raise awareness about mental health, and to reach out to others who may be suffering in silence.
We are humbled to support Tom on this adventure, and to help him get his feet through this incredible feat. Every step Tom takes is in memory of Sam, who left behind a family that continues to love and miss him every day. Sam’s spirit—his curiosity, love for the outdoors, and loyalty—lives on in Tom’s steps, in every mile of this awe-inspiring coastline.
For Tom, this journey is also about inspiring others who share a similar story, a reminder that we’re not alone, even in the darkest of times. It’s a call to reach out, to talk about what weighs on our minds, to seek help and connection when the world feels heavy. Tom is dedicating this run to raising awareness for Boys In Mind, a charity that does vital work supporting young boys and men in understanding their emotions and breaking down the stigma around mental health.
This cause resonates deeply with me. I have lost close friends to suicide, and I understand the weight of that grief. I believe strongly in doing everything we can, no matter how small it seems, to ease the pain of those who feel that suicide is their only option. The pressures of today’s world are immense—depression, anxiety, and mental health struggles are becoming all too common. Supporting Tom and the work of Boys In Mind is one small but deeply meaningful way I hope to make a difference.
Tom’s challenge starts on November 2, 2024, from Minehead, Somerset, and will take him counterclockwise around Land’s End, finishing in Poole, Dorset. That’s a total of 630 miles of dramatic coastal scenery, steep ascents, and untold physical demands—equivalent to climbing Mount Everest four times. Tom’s goal? To complete it in one month, averaging 26 miles a day. It’s no small ask. But as Tom reminds us, it’s not just about the physical feat. It’s about keeping Sam’s memory alive, about showing others that there’s always hope, and about taking one step at a time, even when the path ahead looks impossibly long.
To all of you who read this, we encourage you to visit Tom's GoodHub page here, read more about Tom’s story, and, if you’re able, contribute to this incredible cause. A portion of the funds will also go toward maintaining the South West Coast Path, ensuring this national treasure can be enjoyed by generations to come.
Tom’s journey is more than a race. It’s a story of love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit. Together, we can help Tom honour Sam’s memory and support those who need it most.
Let’s help Tom get his feet—and heart—around this adventure.
